A Little Bit About Us!

Our Coffee Journey

My hubby and I drink a cup of coffee every morning and evening, it's a part of our daily routine we look forward to. We have always enjoyed a good cup of coffee... But the meaning of "good coffee" has certainly progressed and it has taken us years to find out what "good coffee" really is.

We started out drinking big retail store coffee and we thought it was the best, but then we were introduced to a dark roast at our small town coffee shop and that quickly became our favorite.

Then hubby took a business trip overseas and was introduced to espresso. WOW! Did he ever love it! I did what any good wife would do and surprised my hubby with a Nespresso machine that had the pods and we quickly became obsessed with drinking Americano's with a dash of heavy whipping cream. So between our drip coffee and our Nespresso machine, we were quite satisfied with our little setup.

Then around 6+ years ago, we met our future son in law, who happens to be a coffee fanatic/connoisseur. He took our coffee experience to the next level, or rather, he propelled us forward by leaps and bounds. Our perception of the fresh taste and smell of coffee was transformed. There was no going back to drinking mediocre brews, from stale coffee beans.

So we bought ourselves a home roaster and an espresso machine. To experience the aroma and taste of our own roasted beans was very satisfying. We started sharing our beans with family and friends, and it gave us great pleasure when they enjoyed the fresh coffee as much as we did. And they all wanted more! Now were in business, roasting the perfect beans so others can experience the same happiness we find in a good cup of coffee.

Our Family

My name is Alena. I married my best friend, Matt, 30+ years ago. We have 6 children and 4 of them are married to wonderful spouses. We have 12 + grandchildren who affectionately call us Noni and Poppy. Besides sitting around drinking coffee, our favorite past time is to be with our family. It brings us great joy to have them visit. You should see our home when we are all together! Yep, you guessed it! Very noisy chatter can be heard, lots of laughter, and sometimes bickering from the little ones. But hey, I wouldn't trade it for anything! I love making memories with my family. While making memories, you will always find someone at the machine making themselves a latte or an americano. Hahaa, even our little grandchildren love it too. And when it's as smooth as ours, they will drink it black or with a little cream, but to be honest, I think their favorite way is with a dash of maple syrup in it.

Our heart is also into supporting mission work. Our son in law often travels overseas to preach the gospel and we love hearing about the testimonies of salvation and healing taking place. It makes us happy to support the mission work by giving a percentage of our profits.

From our heart to yours,

Noni and Poppy
